Let's all keep in touch!
5 Press Gallery is currently assembling NOCCA alumni information for its online directory, which will be accessible to the public through 5 Press Gallery’s website. The online directory will serve to promote NOCCA alumni artists and to create a space for alumni to collaborate. In addition, 5 Press Gallery will utilize this database for future exhibitions and projects including group and solo shows, collaborations with guest curators, and engagement with current NOCCA students. All alumni who currently have an art practice related to the visual arts are encouraged to submit, even if their time at NOCCA was spent studying another discipline.
NOCCA Faculty and Alumni Flat Files
The 5 Press Flat Files will be a collection of rotating works for sale presented by the NOCCA Institute’s 5 Press Gallery. This archive will feature two-dimensional works on paper created by NOCCA alumni and faculty. These works may be painting, printmaking, drawing, collage on paper, photography and any other two-dimensional media. The Flat Files will be accessible to all visitors of the gallery via an in-gallery flat file cabinet. In addition to being physically available in the 5 Press Gallery, artworks that are a part of the Flat Files will be represented online through 5 Press Gallery’s website.
Each artist will be able to submit a total of five artworks for admittance into the 5 Press Flat Files. Retail price is limited to $300 per artwork submitted. Artwork will be available for sale through The NOCCA Institute’s 5 Press Gallery, which retains a 30% commission on all purchases. Works must also measure 18″ x 24″ or smaller. All artwork received by May 31st will be consigned until June 1st, 2016. After this time, unsold works will be returned to the artist.
Once your submission is sent, we will contact you about scheduling delivery of up to 3 of the submitted pieces. Works should arrive sufficiently packaged to avoid damage during movement and storage before being wrapped. Once received, 5 Press Gallery will back works on acid-free matte board and wrap in archival plastic before displaying in the flat file.
5 Press Gallery would like to thank our Curatorial Assistant Intern, Ernest Littles, for his major assistance with this project!
